Jianguo Zhao is a distinguished scholar holding a Ph.D. in Engineering and postdoctoral credentials, recognized with the prestigious titles of National Advanced Worker and National May 1st Labor Medalist. He serves as a outstanding Professor, a Doctoral Advisor at Taiyuan University of Technology, and a Guest Researcher at the National Engineering Laboratory for Carbon Fiber Preparation Technology. As a Deputy to the 14th National People's Congress, he/she actively contributes to national affairs. His academic excellence has been widely acknowledged through numerous talent accolades, including being selected as a New Century Excellent Talent by the Ministry of Education, and being recognized as an Outstanding Young Academic Leader, an Academic Technology Leader, a Prominent Mid-Career Innovative Talent in Shanxi Higher Institutions, a Leading Talent in Shanxi's Emerging Industries, and a Top-Notch Backbone Talent under the "Sanjin Talent" initiative. Currently, Dr. Jianguo Zhao directs two key national research centers: the Engineering Research Center of Coal-Based Ecological Carbon Sequestration Technology of the Ministry of Education at Shanxi Datong University and the Key Laboratory of Graphene Forestry Application of National Forest and Grass Administration. His primary research focuses on coal-based ecological carbon sink technology, graphene, carbon/carbon composites, and the preparation and application of other novel carbon materials. He has successfully led over 50 research projects funded by a variety of sources, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial/ministerial-level programs, international collaborations, and industry-sponsored research. This prolific research career is evidenced by the publication of more than 200 scholarly papers.
