Wang Qi serves as Director and Chief Scientist of the Graphene Center at CAS Hefei Institute of Technology Innovation, and Graduate Supervisor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He holds the title of "Class A High-Level Talent of Anhui Province" and has received honors including the Anhui Provincial Outstanding Youth Science Fund, the title of "Anhui Provincial Technical Leading Talent", the "President's Special Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)", and is a member of the CAS Youth Innovation Promotion Association as well as an academic leader of a CAS Key Laboratory. Additionally, he acts as an expert reviewer for talent programs under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for journals under Nature Portfolio.
Since 2010, Professor Wang has been engaged in graphene research. He has made breakthroughs in the technology chain of graphene, carbon nanotubes, and carbon-based catalysts. Based on these achievements, he has further promoted the development of fields such as carbon composite materials, graphite and coal chemical industry, battery recycling and utilization, sensors, and biomedicine. He has published over 50 SCI papers and holds more than 20 patents. Moreover, he has won multiple individual awards in national, provincial, and municipal competitions, and has led his team to realize the industrialization of graphene.
