Abstract

Today, CO2 emission into Earth’s atmosphere from the global coal-fired power plants solely is over nine billion tons per year and severe global climate change is challenging the traditional power generation system. CO2 capture technology is highly required and can be achieved by the application of clean energy technologies to sustain the fossil fuel usage without contributing emission. However, all these major clean energy technologies are expensive and cannot be applied commercially. To lower their cost, efficient gas separation and purification technology plays a major role. In this presentation, the speaker will talk about the state of the art of the existing inorganic membrane technologies for clean energy and explore the new opportunities of recently emerging novel membrane-graphene.
