Shen Wenzhuo holds a PhD degree in applied chemistry. The major research covers controllable synthesis and modification of nanomaterials based on the lithium-ion battery electrode material. In order to improve the electrochemical kinetic properties of the lithium ion battery, graphene functional modification films is fabricated on the lithium iron phosphate, andcan realize commercial production. There are more than 13 articles published in many important foreign academic journals such as Carbon, ElectrochimicaActa,RSC Advance, 16 national invention patents with 3 certifications,and as a project leader presided over a number of national projects.

Abstract

Monodispersed and size-controlled carbon spherules are great potential for many applications. In the work, the effects of organic and inorganic acids as catalysts on the formation of carbon spherules through the hydrothermal carbonization of glucose are systematically studied. It was found that using organic dicarboxylic acids, the as-generated carbon spherules show usually better monodispersity, narrower size distribution, and easier for graphitization, Figure1. Furthermore, as active materials for anodes of lithium ion batteries, the carbon spherules produced with organic dicarboxylic acids as catalysts and their corresponding composites with chemically reduced graphene oxide exhibit unique electrochemical properties, Figure 2.
