Graphene, especially graphene oxide, possess huge surface area, and surface containing a large number of active functional groups such as carboxyl groups, hydroxyl groups, carbonyl groups, epoxy groups, etc. Therefore, it has very strong adsorption ability to remove heavy metal ions and organic pollutants in the environment. In addition, the quality requirement for graphene as a sorbent is lower, it will make actual application easy, graphene will plays an important role in environmental protection field in the future. This topic will discuss research progress and existing technical difficulty on graphene applied in soil management, sewage treatment and other environmental restoration.
